October 28th will see the launch of the new monthly fashion and music event brought to you by La Geneve North ( www.lagenevenorth.co.uk )and Fat Talent ( www.fattalent.com )
This informal fashion and music event will enable you to experience Fat Talent's best live acts perform and a fashion show put together by the La Geneve North Team.
The monthly show aims to ‘Celebrate the fusion of fashion and music’ by combining the two into one spectacular informal evening. The night will consist of live entertainment and a fashion show destined to support the UK’s best emerging talents. With a diverse crowd of passionate music and fashion enthusiast in attendance, designers with edge are ensured to reach their hard-to-reach target customers.
Three up and coming designers have been given the opportunity to showcase their designs to a crowd of music and fashion enthusiast at the renowned creative Arts venue 'Inn on the Green'. Just a stone throw away from Portobello, so be expected to mingle with a cosmopolitan crowd

La Geneve North editor in chief, Yolande explains “We aim to present the audience with an entertaining evening in a relaxed environment where up and coming designers can showcase their works. As an up and coming designer we know how difficult it is for them to gain greater exposure for their creations so we do our part in trying to make this happen by bridging this gap.”
As well as designers gaining greater exposure for their collections to a savvy crowd of fashion and music enthusiasts. They will also get the opportunity to be interviewed by one of the writers from La Geneve North online ( www.lagenevenorth.co.uk) , for it to appear on their website and monthly newsletter which boasts an international subscription list of 19-35 year olds.
Fat Talent and La Geneve North believe in offering the best up and coming artists in fashion and music, a platform to show off their talents in a relaxed environment.

Are you up for a fashion challenge?
La Geneve North in association with Talent are doing their part in raising the awareness of eco-fashion sense. They are looking for creative individuals interested in taking part in their eco fashion challenge!

So what is the challenge?
Basically 2 individuals will be selected and given a range of second hand clothing to transform into something interesting and contemporary and showcase the designs at their fashion show on 25th November 2007.
So what’s the purpose of this challenge?
This challenge has been put in place to show that you don’t always need to buy but you can be ethical by recycling. We want to show how you can transform old clothing into something new and do your part for the environment.
Who can enter?
Anyone and everyone with a creative flair. You can even sew it together by hand if you don’t have a sewing machine!

This 5th Annual Screen Nation Awards was held in London on Monday night.
Known as the Black BAFTA's, "The Screen Nation film and Tv Awards is uniquely the only annual international celebration of achievement within black world cinema and TV in the UK".

The Italian Couture Shoot:
I tend to try and not work on Sundays but sometimes have to do the odd photo shoot here and there and Sunday’s are the best days for parking anywhere in London
So today I set out to style the new La Geneve North shoot, based on the theme “Italian Couture”. I never had far to travel which was nice J.
The two models for the shoot were the gorgeous Maela le nen Davey who had gorgeous big red hair and very distinct features and the beautiful Muna who I discovered was part English and part Somalian. Our Make-up Artist for the day was the lovely Nadine Leighton –( www.nadineleighton.co.uk )who I have previously worked with. The hair stylist was our own lovely Latifah Jolie and our fantastic photographer was Caitlin McColl who has won several awards/recognitions in photography. These include: An exhibition at the UN for the Shoot Nations competition (http://www.shootnations.org/assets/popup.htm , http://www.shootnations.org/assets/images/other/collage.jpg) An exhibition in Paris for the Musée de l'Elysée An exhibition at The Refectory in London Runner-Up in the NYAS photography competition Winner in the Guardian Unlimited Travel Competition Winner of a Shoot Experience Competition. So as evident very talented!!
It was such a lovely day in terms of the weather so I think this really boosted everyone’s spirits considering it was a Sunday afternoon whereby most people tend to just relax and take it easy.
The hair and make-up looked absolutely fantastic and very spot on. The jewellery we used was from 4 Season Shop,
I am so excited about the images when they come out!!!

New York Fashion Week
La Geneve North were one of the official media partners for Nolcha Fashion Week NYC. The team jetted off to NYC to enjoy the spectacular runway shows put together by Nolcha showcasing exquisite collections by designers from all over the globe.

London fashion week commenced with opening shows from designers Ashley Isham, Gavin Douglous, and Issa.
Highlights included Stella McCartney’s debut with her latest collection for Adidas, Luella’s new striking collection and Prince‘s amazing surprise performance at the Matthew Williamson show.

Today I went to the Kyzar Chic fashion networking event in
This networking soiree took place at the popular celebrity haunt ‘The Collection’ in
Designer Kalikas Armour showcased his S/S 08 collection.
Overall I was not feeling too well today so was not in the best of moods – I know considering I’m always bubbly.
I watched the show and went home for a good nights rest :)
