Rev it up : One hot Fashion Week Parrrrrrttttyyyyyyyyy!!

So after the Lida O'Reilly London fashion Week show which I was working on yesterday, I quickly got changed into my sequined butterfly Traffic People Top, Topshop shiny black leggings and Steve Maddens, hopped into a black cab and made my way to join friends at the legendary Rev Run fashion week party. The party was celebrating the launch of his new exclusive Footlocket trainer line and was simply jammed packed!

I eventually found my friends who by that stage i believe may have already had a bit too much to drink...lol. Drinks were just flowing non-stop and the music, which was being spun on the decks by the one and only Mark Ronson was just incredible. I had so much fun despite the sore feet and tiredness from a long day working.

The crowd was a nice mix and just really let their hair down and got down. I met and saw so many Industry peeps and I even bumped into an old work friend of my called Charlotte who was meant to be my L.A buddy when we turn 30 (lol, long story, will have to explain another time, lol).

Guests in attendance included Rev (the man himself off course :), British designer Ozwald Boateng, Amber Rose, Jamelia, Shingai from the Noisettes, Paloma Faith, Mollie King from The Saturdays and more.

After Rev's party we headed down to celebrity presenter Julian Bennett's club by Selfridges and chilled out with some of the models from Lida O'Reilly's show for a bit.

The night could not be complete without grabbing a famous Sharwarma (Not even sure if I spelling this right!) in Edgeware Road at Ranoush Juice...yes it was one of those 'I need heavy food' nights. I can't even tell you what time I got home as I don't even remember!

I must say this was one of my best nights out this year full stop!

Here's to good times and Fashion Week memories :)

Thorpe Park Madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I went to Thorpe Park today after a friend managed to convince me to come. I agreed under the condition that I don’t have to go on any rides (As I absolutely hate all those scary rides) and can just chill and enjoy the weather.

The Ensemble:

I decided to wear denim shorts, my H&M Madonna vest top and my Topshop boots and Kate Kanzier bag. My jewellery was a combination of 4 Seasons Shop pieces (http://www.4seasonsshop.co.uk/ ) and my favourite Christian Dior Bracelet. There I was ready to go to Thorpe Park on one of the hottest days of the year!

The Experience

The weather at Thorpe Park was consistently gorgeous and I kept saying “it feels like were on holiday in the Mediterranean!!”. So there I was relaxing enjoying the weather until I heard “Yolande you have to go on that ride with us!”, OMG my worst nightmare!! I explained I had not come to go on any rides but to have a relaxing day out with friends. All of a sudden everybody couldn’t recall me saying that and convinced me to go on this swinging type ride claiming it was not scary at all and they had all been on it previously. Anyway to cut the long story short, I went on this ride and all I can say is OMG, how traumatizing!! It really took me half the day to get over this ride and I felt so SICK! . After that it was certainly a wrap!!! I can’t believe how people get really excited about scary rides, I just never quite got it –lol

There was another ride called the SAW which everyone was excited about and off course I did not even attempt it this time round. Whilst my friends got on I stood to the side and had this nine year old girl come up to me and try to console me?????!!!!! She was like “ It’s not a scary ride you know? I’ve even been on it twice”- yeah thanks but no thanks was what was going through my mind.

Anyway seeing Peter Andre got my mind off that scary ride. He was so lovely to speak to and genuinely polite! I was extremely impressed. Then a wod of girls came howling down out of nowhere and that was it! Security started getting out of control and so forth.

Also at Thorpe Park today was Miss Frank and Flawless.

So later that evening I saw my mum and told her about me going to Thorpe Park which she found to be hilarious. I’m just not that kind of person-lol I told her about the incident with the nine year old and she was like “Well when you were little you used to do all those scary rides and you were fine.” Which left me with the thought… what happened…??

Bon nuit

The Vogue Fashion night out and Pre London Fashion Week Celebrations

Hi guys,

I can’t believe fashion week is nearly here again…I feel like the previous season was the other day!!! But anyway I’m not complaining, I am in fact extremely excited about all the glitz and glamour etc etc that will be happening next week in London. I may be considered as being biased here but I can honestly say LFW is the best fashion week and most daring I have yet been to!!. From the clothes to the people and the energy surrounding it makes it so unique in its own right and so wonderful to be part of.

As part of my pre-fashion week celebrations I went to the Vogue Fashion Night out event in London’s West End and I must say everyone was dressed to impress and at their ‘fashion best!!’. You were easily able to distinguish the brave with their daring hair cuts (think Rhianna, Solange and Cassie) and the trend setters from the trend followers!!

As part of a bold global initiative, the international editions of VOGUE partnered with designers, department stores, high-street chains and boutiques to create Fashion’s Night Out, an evening extravaganza held around the world from 6pm until midnight. For this event to be made possible the VOGUE team worked with retailers to create a night of original in-store activities, including personal appearances, makeovers and workshops, during extended shopping hours.

For those of you looking to get a taste of fashion week can hop down to the ‘A La Mode’ LFW Catwalk at the Charing Cross Hotel next week. Visit the below link for more info:
