Wireless Festival baby!

So on Friday, myself and my partner in Crime Bella, headed down to the Wireless festival in Hyde Park London!

After a crazy week at work and not a day off in ages I jumped at the opportunity of chilling out and having a long weekend off. I know those that know me were extremely shocked that I even took a non-work related long weekend off, lol.

So I had to really think about what to wear because I needed something versatile that would be suitable for both the festival and the after party at Supperclub later that evening. I rummaged through my wardrobe and there it was VOILA!!! My vintage black and gold lace dress with side splits was starring right at me J That was it for me and added a cute vintage belt.

Make-up wise I wanted to keep it very neutral and simple to compliment my dress otherwise there would have been too much going on. Also the day was extremely hot so I really did not want too much on my face. I put on some gold eye shadow, eyeliner and nude coloured lip gloss and as a finishing sprayed some VANI-T multi-vitamin facial mist spritz which is great for setting make-up and keeping you skin hydrated throughout the day. I painted my nails pastel green to add a bit of contrast and colour to my ensemble and was good to go!

I finally got to the festival and met up with Bella and headed to the V.I.P and Press section. I don’t do too well with large crowds but I was really excited about the festival, music and food and got completely distracted chatting away with familiar faces that I somehow managed to forget about the crowds of people.

Me and Bella spent most of the day with the team from Verge Magazine and Flavour magazine discussing all sorts in the gorgeous sun! The weather was just unbelievable! NO RAIN GUYS!!! YES NO RAIN!! It almost felt as though I was on holiday!

We went to watch Tiny Tempah’s amazing performance and danced away and sang Happy Birthday to his bass player who is also a friend of Bella’s.

I also bumped into the talented Jamal Edwards whose documentary and meet-up with Richard Branson was recently shown on TV. He has created a youth broadcasting empire, amassing over 54 million video views on You Tube and supporting new talent through his own record label, and he's on 20yrs old!!.

(Below: Jamal Edwards and Bella)

Being a big fan of TOWIE (The Only Way is Essex) I had to take a snap with the Faiers sisters Billie & Sam
:) They were so sweet and looked amazing!

Later on I caught up with Vanessa from the Saturdays as was dying to ask her a particular question which myself and a friend of mine have been debating for ages . She was so sweet and happily answered :)

More pics from the Festival:

So the next stop after the festival was Supper Club in Notting Hill. We just about caught the V.I.P coach that was waiting for us...will tell you all about that in another post!

Essex Fashion Week has arrived!

Today I headed down to Essex Fashion Week with the LGN Events team (www.lgn-events.co.uk ) to see what Essex really had to offer and meet the cast of 'The Only Way is Essex' (also known as TOWIE), the UK's answer to American reality hit series, The Hills! The show was hosted by TOWIE twins Adam and Simon Ryan.

I must say I am a fan of the show and refer to it as my guilty pleasure so was excited about the thought of meeting Nana Pat :)She was lovely, but
unfortunately I did not get to taste some of those famous sausage plaits she makes :( I know right!!!!

Below pic: Myself and Nana Pat

I definitely feel TOWIE is one of those shows you either love or hate! But I must say you gotta love it :)Overall Essex Fashion Week was much better than I had anticipated and offered something different and kept the crowd engaged at all times, drinks were flowing consistently throughout keeping everyone smiling.

Above pic: These two lovely ladies made us some mean cocktails!

Several TOWIE stars featured on the Catwalk included Lydia Bright Rose and Jessica Wright. Lydia looked Amazing I must say. I don’t think TV does her justice, she is stunning!

Joey Bevan, Basildon based designer and stylist or as he refers to it himself Bas-Vegas, got to showcase some of his skills by creating a dress for Lydia Bright Rose in a matter of minutes on the Catwalk.

Joey is the owner of PoInTeD bRoWn ShOeS and everything in his collection is recycled and even has a Turkish rug in one of his pieces. His collection is all about encouraging ethical practices.Below are some more pics from the Event! :)

Mirror Boy Premiere : Are you ready for the Journey?

Today I attended the Mirror Boy Premiere (The UK's biggest African movie premier ever) at the Empire in Leicester Square. The event was packed out, so thank god I was able to squeeze past the never ending queue.

In terms of my Outfit I went for a black and gold vintage lace dress and my comfy Japanese leather boot /shoes which I am so totally loving and can’t live without!!

Starring in the movie is Nollywood A-list actress Genevieve NNaji and actor Osita Iheme.

Celebrities and fans came out to support the movie which is about an enthralling journey through Gambia, seen through the eyes of London-born 12 year old Tijan (Edward Kagutuzi). Getting involved in a street fight, in which a boy is hurt, his mother (Genevieve Nnaji) decides to take him to the Gambia to live with her sister. On their arrival in Banjul, Tijan encounters an apparition of a boy smiling at him in a mirror and vanishing. Seeing the same boy in a crowded street market the next day sets in motion a chain of events that culminates in him getting lost. While Tijan's panic-stricken mother struggles to find her son in an intriguing game of survival brinkmanship, Tijan is left alone in the company of the enigmatic Mirror Boy, who is only visible to him. A bruising spiritual rite of passage, Mirror Boy takes Tijan on a magical and mystical journey. Written by Obi Emeloyne.

I briefly headed back to Genevieve Nnaji’s hotel with the crew for some quick strawberries and Nice biscuits. I then finally headed home to bed as have an early start tomorrow!

Nite nite xx

Introducing Eveae West...

Today I had a meeting with Award Winning UK musician Egypt in Central London.
I had met Egypt for the first time at an event after Christmas whereby she performed alongside other UK artists including Miss Frank. She wore this amazing peach dress and I had to find out where she had purchased it from! Little did I know she made it herself and all by hand!!! I was simply blown away so when she got back from her amazing trip to Ghana we decided to finally meet again so I can have a look at a few of her collection samples and find out more about her Eveae West label.

Her pieces and detail on the sleeves was just simply beautiful. It’s so funny because you always hear about celebrities launching their own fashion label which they clearly did not design the range for but simply slap their name on it, so am always sceptical about celebrities who tell me they are designers. However I had another level of respect for Egypt because this is one celebrity that created each piece in her collection by hand herself!!!

Egypt will be joining the fashion pack as she prepares to debut her new label during London Fashion Week at the 'A La Mode' International Catwalk show taking place at the cosmopolitan Charing Cross hotel in Strand!

Rev it up : One hot Fashion Week Parrrrrrttttyyyyyyyyy!!

So after the Lida O'Reilly London fashion Week show which I was working on yesterday, I quickly got changed into my sequined butterfly Traffic People Top, Topshop shiny black leggings and Steve Maddens, hopped into a black cab and made my way to join friends at the legendary Rev Run fashion week party. The party was celebrating the launch of his new exclusive Footlocket trainer line and was simply jammed packed!

Above pic: The trainer bar display

I eventually found my friends who by that stage i believe may have already had a bit too much to drink...lol. Drinks were just flowing non-stop and the music, which was being spun on the decks by the one and only Mark Ronson was just incredible. I had so much fun despite the sore feet and tiredness from a long day working.

Above pic: Me and a friend at the Party

The crowd was a nice mix and just really let their hair down and got down. I met and saw so many Industry peeps and I even bumped into an old work friend of my called Charlotte who was meant to be my L.A buddy when we turn 30 (lol, long story, will have to explain another time, lol).

Below pic: Me and Charlotte :)

Guests in attendance included Rev (the man himself off course :), British designer Ozwald Boateng, Amber Rose, Jamelia, Shingai from the Noisettes, Paloma Faith, Mollie King from The Saturdays and more.

After Rev's party we headed down to celebrity presenter Julian Bennett's club by Selfridges and chilled out with some of the models from Lida O'Reilly's show for a bit.

The night could not be complete without grabbing a famous Sharwarma (Not even sure if I spelling this right!) in Edgeware Road at Ranoush Juice...yes it was one of those 'I need heavy food' nights. I can't even tell you what time I got home as I don't even remember!

I must say this was one of my best nights out this year full stop!

Here's to good times and Fashion Week memories :)

The Leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly's 2nd LFW showcase

Today was a crazy day. I must say I did not sleep much as I tend to lie in bed thinking too much about everything to do with a show I am working on the night before. Today I worked on leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly's London Fashion Week show so was up from super early to organise myself.

Although I have been working on this show for a while, it's just crazy how you always seem to get slightly nervous and anal about everything even a day before the show. I guess that's one of the crazy things about working in the fashion industry. Also I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work so just like to double check for the millionth time that everything has been covered lol.

I got to the the Venue at 1pm and got straight into double checking the floor plan and sorting out the finalised guest seating arrangements and all those small things you can easily forget about. Bollywood actress and singer Sofia Hayat was also on site and really got into the organising side of things also and assiting the production guy. She too is a perfectionist and was performing throughout the show so really wanted to go through everything in detail. I was so inspired and admired her energy and passion.

Time really flew by and by the time you knew it guests started to arrived by 7pm and i was still not should i say ' show-dressed'. I quickly nipped to the backstage area and changed into one of Lida's amazing elegant and extravagant pieces. I felt like a million dollars in this beautiful dress which was not short of compliments!

The show went smoothly and a nice mix of celebrity guests showed up who included Celebrity presenter Julian Bennett, Louis Mariette (of BNTM), Award winning Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, Ian Carmichael (Hairdresser to the Queen), Celebrity designer Lewis-duncan Weedon, British Actress Rebecca Grant of Holby City, Visit Mauritius, OK Magazine and many more.

Overall everyone loved the collection and the show which I was so pleased about and so happy for Lida as she really does work hard to create such show stopping pieces and is such a genuinuly lovely person.

London fashion Week: Day 3 : Esthetica Brunch , Olivia Palermo, Vivienne Westwood Red Label and Dinner with a client :)

Although I felt extremely exhausted today after all the shows, working and running from venue to venue I managed to eventually get out of bed and get ready to head out to the Esthetica Brunch at Somerset House.

The Esthetica brunch hosted by Harold Tillman, Chairman, British Fashion Council, showcased a selection of eco conscience designers with beautiful and innovative products.

I really liked Supermodel Erin O’Connor and vintage designer/stylist Kate Halfpenny’s T-shirt collection entitled ‘She died of beauty’. They were simple yet fun!

After the Esthetica I brunch I managed to have a quick chat with the stunning fashionista and The City star Olivia Palermo who was in London. She was so lovely and nothing near as how horrid she is portrayed in The City!

Below is a quick snap of us in Covent Garden

Vivienne Westwood Red Label

It was finally that moment I had been waiting for all day! Yes the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show time! Me and my bff Mary headed down nice and early as we were fully aware of the chaos and queuing!

I spotted a range of celebrities and fashion elites arriving at the venue which included the beautiful couple Rochelle (from the Saturdays) and Marvin (from JLS), Tolula Adeyemi (Vivienne's muse), Pamela Anderson and Nicola Roberts from Girl's Aloud.

Above pic: Tolula Adeyemi (Vivienne's muse) arriving at the venue

The collection was outstanding off course and what was nice was seeing a voluptuous Daisy Lowe strutting down the Catwalk representing real women.

Below are some pics of her beautiful, bold and structured tailoring...

Dinner with designer Lida O'Reilly and Bollywood actress/singer Sofia Hayat.

To end my evening I met up with leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly whose London Fashion Week show will be taking place on Tuesday and Bollywood actress and singer Sofia Hayat for dinner at Pizza Express. We went through a few things and visited the show venue to ensure everything was in place and then I was off home for some much needed sleep

Cloggy-licious!!!

Soooooooooooooo I was not too keen on the whole clog trend at first but somehow it just kind of grew on me! I found myself in a position whereby I was itching to get a pair!!!!

I did think what's the point summer is nearly over...?? And the 'oh do I really need a new pair of shoes?' And oh ‘how can I forget the 'would I actually get a chance to wear them with this awful British weather?' Yes all those questions ran through my mind but the end result was 'yes I bought them'!! Lol

Here they are!!! Tell me what you think???

I have already thought of all the opportunities I could use to wear them!

Below: love the way these ladies are rocking their clogs!!

Cloggy-licious for now my lovelies
