Zed Eye at Britain & Irelands Next Top Model Live!

Today I headed down to the Excel centre to assist Zed Eye’s designer Zi at her fabulously chic stand at Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model Live. Not only was Zed Eye the only African designer showcasing at the exhibition, her clothes were also in demand especially amongst the BNTM contestants who were itching to wear her feather dress and host Vernon Francois who ended up snapping up a pair of her Harem pants to don on the stage during his session.

Vernon Francois on stage :)

There was so much interest generated, it was Unbelievable!! The mailing list requests just kept coming in and we had the stunning Big Brother Maisy James pop by Her and Zi certainly shared some giggles and discussed their love of Vintage shades.
:)

Model Dudley O'Shaughnessy from Rihanna’s video also made an appearance at the show which caused a bit of a stir and had screaming girls cuing like mad!!!

I spotted a couple of great models I’ve also worked with who were modelling :)

Afro Hair & Beauty Show Highlights

The past few days have been completely manic for me as I was working at the Afro Hair & Beauty Live event! I was overseeing the ‘Zed Eye presents fashion show and Pop-Up boutique', which featured a range of collection pieces from emerging and established designers.

Below: Moi Posing at the Pop-Up Boutique wearing a handbag from one of the participating designers, Monsura Bags! Oh I love the way they match my shoes :) What do you think?

The first set of fashion shows took place on Sunday at 12.45. Emerging designers who showcased their collections on the Catwalk included Lanyero, Adopted Culture, Monsura Boutique, Yaa Ataa Bags, Honey Malalou and Yummi Kouture.

Next up at 2.45pm was the established designer showcase which was opened by Zed Eye and featured other more established designers who included Ayakai Couture, Afro-Chique, Oheme Ohene and Tina Lobondi. The shows would off course not have been possible without our amazing sponsors who included Sensational Hair and the Award Winning Josh Hair & Beauty Team, Stacey Okafor from Mac Cosmetics and her team.

The Pop-Up Boutique:
There were a range of fantastic brands selling at the Zed Eye Presents Pop-Up Boutique which included Bianou, Dionne Gooding Shoes and Dres Designs.
All the designers who also showcased on the Catwalk had their collection pieces available to purchase at the Boutique.

I also got to meet the fabulous lady behind the Doris Michaels beauty brand which I am most defiantly a fan off and swear by! Her concealer and foundation stick does wonders on my skin and keeps it glowing throughout the whole day. I am a beauty freak so trust me I have shopped around for suitable matches for my skin tone and had to leave Mac for Doris Michaels. I do still love Mac eye shadows but as for the perfect foundation and concealer I have to give it to Doris. Check them out at www.dorismichaelscosmetics.com

I’m still shattered from the madness, two days of hardly any sleep and not much food but overall had a great time and Amazing team!

Mirror Boy Premiere : Are you ready for the Journey?

Today I attended the Mirror Boy Premiere (The UK's biggest African movie premier ever) at the Empire in Leicester Square. The event was packed out, so thank god I was able to squeeze past the never ending queue.

In terms of my Outfit I went for a black and gold vintage lace dress and my comfy Japanese leather boot /shoes which I am so totally loving and can’t live without!!

Celebrities and fans came out to support the movie which is about an enthralling journey through Gambia, seen through the eyes of London-born 12 year old Tijan (Edward Kagutuzi). Getting involved in a street fight, in which a boy is hurt, his mother (Genevieve Nnaji) decides to take him to the Gambia to live with her sister. On their arrival in Banjul, Tijan encounters an apparition of a boy smiling at him in a mirror and vanishing. Seeing the same boy in a crowded street market the next day sets in motion a chain of events that culminates in him getting lost. While Tijan's panic-stricken mother struggles to find her son in an intriguing game of survival brinkmanship, Tijan is left alone in the company of the enigmatic Mirror Boy, who is only visible to him. A bruising spiritual rite of passage, Mirror Boy takes Tijan on a magical and mystical journey. Written by Obi Emeloyne.

I briefly headed back to Genevieve Nnaji’s hotel with the crew for some quick strawberries and Nice biscuits. I then finally headed home to bed as have an early start tomorrow!

Nite nite xx

A trip to Designer Zed Eye’s New London Showroom

Today was an absolute crazy day full of meetings and rushing to get to one venue or another but it’s days like these that end up being so much fun! It’s great to just get out of the office and meet with clients or potential clients so that was exactly what I did today.

Last season I produced emerging designer Zed Eye’s London Fashion Week Catwalk show so when I received the call from her to say she had finished moving into her new showroom and was being filmed for a TV interview I made it a must to go and support her and see her new showroom today.
Just to tell you a bit about the Zed Eye brand for those of you who have not yet come across this amazing brand, Nigerian Born uber talented designer Ngozi Pere-Okorotie, is the creative head behind Zed Eye. The London College of Fashion graduate, who takes inspiration from fashion goddess Vivienne Westwood, hails from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria, currently residing in Earls Court, London. It appears the inevitable for such a fashionably talented woman to end up in the fashion capital; Ngozi originally studied to become an accountant.

Her passion for designing beautiful garments stems from sweet childhood memories of her mother's fashion academy, which means Ngozi was constantly surrounded by clothes, and encapsulated into the world of fashion long before she embarked on her successful career as a fashion designer. One life-changing moment that stands out to her is learning how to use a measuring tape at the tender age of six.

Famed for her stand out piece; the three quarter sleeve floral print summer jacket, which has already rouged the wardrobes of top celebrities including Kelis, Shingai (The Noisettes), celebrity hairdresser Tara Smith and renowned British designer Henry Holland, Ngozi sang high praise for her spring/summer 2010 collection.

I finally headed down to Greenwich in London to see Zed Eye’s new showroom and collection pieces and all I can say is Wow!!! The showroom is beautiful and the collection really speaks for itself!

Clothes Show Live London!!!!!!!!

The weather was gorgeous today and just in time for Clothes Show Live which was taking place at Earls Court.

I made my way down there in the afternoon to see in particular designer Zi of Zed Eye’s new collection pieces.

For those of you who have never come across this brand, Zed-Eye's contemporary designs have graced the covers of numerous International magazines and have been worn by the likes of celebrities who include Naomi Campbell and Tasmin Egerton. Her pieces will be available to purchase online via http://www.myasho.com/ as of next month.

Zed Eye’s collection, ‘Tribal Romance’, caused a stir as women fought for the last of her gorgeous yellow dresses with sequin detail. Having sold out the day before also showed just how in demand this dress was! The fabric was of gorgeous quality and I’ll def be bagging myself one when it comes back in stock!

I fell in love with her fitted print jackets and the gorgeous floral print used throughout.

Below pic: me in the fitted print jacket

This designer is certainly one to watch having impressed Henry Holland who stopped by her boutique style stand and British Fashion expert and presenter Caryn Franklin.

So being someone who loves big bags, I came across a brand called C Grand London who specialize in handmade leather accessories. They’re bags were just so amazing and I was so impressed with the quality of they’re handmade bags!!! You can check them out and see for yourself at http://www.cgrandlondon.com/

Below pic: Me holding one of C Grand London’s supersize leather bags!

Whilst I was there I bumped into so many familiar faces and people I have worked with including the below model who I must say looked striking in her dress, which she made using traditional Ghanaian Cloth. I actually didn’t believe she made it until she show me the pictures on her camera of her making it step by step! It’s quite amazing how creative.

After spending time trying to stop myself from buying everything I made my way home to screaming football fans upset because England had lost the game.
