Afro Hair & Beauty Show Highlights

The past few days have been completely manic for me as I was working at the Afro Hair & Beauty Live event! I was overseeing the ‘Zed Eye presents fashion show and Pop-Up boutique', which featured a range of collection pieces from emerging and established designers.

Below: Moi Posing at the Pop-Up Boutique wearing a handbag from one of the participating designers, Monsura Bags! Oh I love the way they match my shoes :) What do you think?

The first set of fashion shows took place on Sunday at 12.45. Emerging designers who showcased their collections on the Catwalk included Lanyero, Adopted Culture, Monsura Boutique, Yaa Ataa Bags, Honey Malalou and Yummi Kouture.

Next up at 2.45pm was the established designer showcase which was opened by Zed Eye and featured other more established designers who included Ayakai Couture, Afro-Chique, Oheme Ohene and Tina Lobondi. The shows would off course not have been possible without our amazing sponsors who included Sensational Hair and the Award Winning Josh Hair & Beauty Team, Stacey Okafor from Mac Cosmetics and her team.

The Pop-Up Boutique:
There were a range of fantastic brands selling at the Zed Eye Presents Pop-Up Boutique which included Bianou, Dionne Gooding Shoes and Dres Designs.
All the designers who also showcased on the Catwalk had their collection pieces available to purchase at the Boutique.

Below pics: Random pics from the Pop-Up Boutique

I also got to meet the fabulous lady behind the Doris Michaels beauty brand which I am most defiantly a fan off and swear by! Her concealer and foundation stick does wonders on my skin and keeps it glowing throughout the whole day. I am a beauty freak so trust me I have shopped around for suitable matches for my skin tone and had to leave Mac for Doris Michaels. I do still love Mac eye shadows but as for the perfect foundation and concealer I have to give it to Doris. Check them out at www.dorismichaelscosmetics.com

I’m still shattered from the madness, two days of hardly any sleep and not much food but overall had a great time and Amazing team!

QVC Press Day!

Today I attended the QVC Spring/Summer press day with my cousin who is a professional Make-up Artist and always on the hunt for amazing new products like myself :)

I’m not going to lie to you, it was FREEZZZZZZZZIIINNNNGGGG cold outside and I believe slightly snowing, but in the name of fashion and beauty we headed down to Tottenham Court Road to see what QVC had to offer! My aunt is an avid QVC fan so every time I’m at her house QVC is always on. She’s not really into online shopping as she’s a bit old school so loves the whole QVC thing. So you can imagine her excitement when I told her I was going to their press day lol.

I did not quite know what to expect. I know QVC has really evolved over the years and are doing more name branded items and collaborations.

When we arrived we were greeted with the most amazing Cupcakes on a stick! I know right!! They were delicious! Below is a pic of my one.

The beauty section had so many fantastic products! I could not believe my eyes! No wonder my aunt is addicted to the shopping channel.

Some of my favourite products had to be:

1. The Mally Get the Glow Collection
2. The Prai 24 k Golden creme Extraordinaire (So luxurious!!!)
3. The Nina Leonard Graphic Zig Zag Print chain strap Maxi Dress
4. The Butler & Wilson Couture S Chunky Flower Necklace
5. The exotic Elemis Lime and Ginger hand and body lotion

I even got my nails down by an O.P.I technician. I went for the teal coloured O.P.I nail polish. I must remember to get the actual colour code. It should be out shortly and you’re honestly going to love this gorgeous colour. I will keep you posted.

My cousin loved the make-up range and Laura Geller brush!

Overall I was so impressed with the fantastic range of products and will definitely be bagging myself some of those gorge items :)

Bye for now x
