Outstanding Emerging Designers Make their Mark at the ‘A La Mode’ Catwalk show

Friday 6th March 09 saw five of some of the UK’s most outstanding emerging designers showcase their S/S 09 and A/W 09/10 collections to an audience of press, buyers and fashion enthusiasts.
The event took place at the renowned creative Arts venue ‘The Rich Mix’ in Brick Lane. Sponsors supporting the show included L.A Sugar, Clicqisse, Quick Energy Drinks, 4 Seasons Shop, Love Genevieve, Esska’s shoes, Diary Directory, Soiree Nights and Flaunt Fashion Attraction.

Opening the show was the fantastic entertainment group, Ellements, who got the crowd energised and excited with their pop performance.

The first designer to showcase was the Award Winning designer Danielle Morgan, whose collection has also been recently purchased by Asos and is currently stocked on their website

www.asos.com. Danielle Morgan showed both her S/S 09 collection, Phenomenal Woman, and her A/W 09/10 Collection, Imperial Reign.

Following Danielle’s collection was designer Saffron Knight’s Bold and beautiful collection influenced by dance themes such as jazz, flamenco and ballroom. The collection consisted of her hand drawn prints transferred onto a gorgeous selection of fabrics.

Thandie Olivia showcased her S/S 09 collection “Cocktails & Candy” consisting of a rich mix of old school femininity, with influences from the 50’s, and relevant trend led pieces in bright colours and luxurious fabrics.

Designer Maria Cuji showcased her collection ‘FREEDOM’ which comprised of a gorgeous selection of contemporary handmade hats and intimate pieces.

Closing the show was Veronique B Couture whose contemporary twist on Tribal wear did not disappoint. Her collection ‘SENNIYA’ saw her experiment and explore with a range of gorgeous fabrics inspired by her culture.

The gorgeous show presenter was styled and dressed by designer label Georgie W Couture.

Exhibitors on the night included Guate Goat Boutique Ltd, 4 Season’s Shop, and Artwork by Artists Laura Godfrey, Sheila Fratini and Adelaide Damoah.

Indie Songwriter and singer Elite and Rock Band Designer Babies also performed on the night.

Guests also had the Opportunity to win 2 BA return tickets to New York by purchasing a raffle ticket at £2. All proceeds went to Raw Inspiration Charity.

The after party was hosted by soireenights.com and held at one of London’s hottest venues, Monroe, No5 Cavendish Square. Exquisitely furnished No5 is a gorgeous mansion house that boasts 3 bars, an acclaimed restaurant and member’s nightclub with a roof terrace.

The Cosmopolitan Online Fashion Awards 2009

Last week I attended the Cosmopolitan online fashion awards which took place on 5th March 2009 at the prestigious Roof Gardens in Kensington.

Judged by Fearne Cotton, Lisa Snowdon and Mark Heyes, together with Cosmopolitan’s readers and fashion experts, the awards celebrate the very best in online fashion retailing.
