Goodbye Fashion Week...

So today was unfortunately the last day of London Fashion Week :( My life has been so crazy the past week to the point where it feels weird to know that after today the madness will be over for a while.

I worked at the Jalouse London Fashion Week Closing show and with what energy left I simply really don't know, lol. The guest list consisted of over 400 names and my Blackberry would not stop going off throughout the day with more and more names being sent through. It was just crazy and people got really pi##ed of when I said the guestlist was closed. I mean honestly it's the day of the event for god sake.

I focused my energies on overseeing important factors and assiting our choreographer Latifah with the model run throughs.

Designers showcasing their amazing creations included Jonathan Liang (Who also showcased on the 1st day of LFW at the 'A La Mode' show),

Hanako Narahira and her extroadinary knitwear creations,

Jessica Day

and handbag designer Rajadano.

After the show I caught up with a few guests and clients then headed down to Ranoush Juice with a few friends for a quick bite then went to SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rev it up : One hot Fashion Week Parrrrrrttttyyyyyyyyy!!

So after the Lida O'Reilly London fashion Week show which I was working on yesterday, I quickly got changed into my sequined butterfly Traffic People Top, Topshop shiny black leggings and Steve Maddens, hopped into a black cab and made my way to join friends at the legendary Rev Run fashion week party. The party was celebrating the launch of his new exclusive Footlocket trainer line and was simply jammed packed!

I eventually found my friends who by that stage i believe may have already had a bit too much to drink...lol. Drinks were just flowing non-stop and the music, which was being spun on the decks by the one and only Mark Ronson was just incredible. I had so much fun despite the sore feet and tiredness from a long day working.

Above pic: Me and a friend at the Party

The crowd was a nice mix and just really let their hair down and got down. I met and saw so many Industry peeps and I even bumped into an old work friend of my called Charlotte who was meant to be my L.A buddy when we turn 30 (lol, long story, will have to explain another time, lol).

Below pic: Me and Charlotte :)

Guests in attendance included Rev (the man himself off course :), British designer Ozwald Boateng, Amber Rose, Jamelia, Shingai from the Noisettes, Paloma Faith, Mollie King from The Saturdays and more.

After Rev's party we headed down to celebrity presenter Julian Bennett's club by Selfridges and chilled out with some of the models from Lida O'Reilly's show for a bit.

The night could not be complete without grabbing a famous Sharwarma (Not even sure if I spelling this right!) in Edgeware Road at Ranoush Juice...yes it was one of those 'I need heavy food' nights. I can't even tell you what time I got home as I don't even remember!

I must say this was one of my best nights out this year full stop!

Here's to good times and Fashion Week memories :)

The Leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly's 2nd LFW showcase

Today was a crazy day. I must say I did not sleep much as I tend to lie in bed thinking too much about everything to do with a show I am working on the night before. Today I worked on leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly's London Fashion Week show so was up from super early to organise myself.

Although I have been working on this show for a while, it's just crazy how you always seem to get slightly nervous and anal about everything even a day before the show. I guess that's one of the crazy things about working in the fashion industry. Also I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my work so just like to double check for the millionth time that everything has been covered lol.

I got to the the Venue at 1pm and got straight into double checking the floor plan and sorting out the finalised guest seating arrangements and all those small things you can easily forget about. Bollywood actress and singer Sofia Hayat was also on site and really got into the organising side of things also and assiting the production guy. She too is a perfectionist and was performing throughout the show so really wanted to go through everything in detail. I was so inspired and admired her energy and passion.

Time really flew by and by the time you knew it guests started to arrived by 7pm and i was still not should i say ' show-dressed'. I quickly nipped to the backstage area and changed into one of Lida's amazing elegant and extravagant pieces. I felt like a million dollars in this beautiful dress which was not short of compliments!

The show went smoothly and a nice mix of celebrity guests showed up who included Celebrity presenter Julian Bennett, Louis Mariette (of BNTM), Award winning Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, Ian Carmichael (Hairdresser to the Queen), Celebrity designer Lewis-duncan Weedon, British Actress Rebecca Grant of Holby City, Visit Mauritius, OK Magazine and many more.

Overall everyone loved the collection and the show which I was so pleased about and so happy for Lida as she really does work hard to create such show stopping pieces and is such a genuinuly lovely person.

London Fashion Week Day 4: Romeo Pires and Bolshie

Today I went to Vauxhall Fashion Scout to attend the Romeo Pires' show. I nearly chocked on my Valerie Cupcake when I saw a 7ft shadow next to me, but it was fine as I realised it was pop artist Pandemonia. I did not know how she managed to sit through the whole show with all those lights in PVC!! Wow the things people do in the name of fashion ey, lol!

Below pic: Pandemonia and her dog in her PVC gear!

Pires' collection comprised of extravagant baggy pleated skirts, long white tailored shirts, white faces, frizzy hair and braces.

Below is some footage I filmed from the show :)

She's Bolshie ! :
After the Romeo Pires show I managed to squeeze in a quick interview with Bolshie designer Rhiannon Jones whose clients include Lady Gaga and X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke. She may be only 18 but this emerging designer is destined for stardom!

Check it out below:

I also bumped into the lovely fashion designer/Author Samata Angel wearing a beautiful dress by designer Nico D .

London fashion Week: Day 3 : Esthetica Brunch , Olivia Palermo, Vivienne Westwood Red Label and Dinner with a client :)

Although I felt extremely exhausted today after all the shows, working and running from venue to venue I managed to eventually get out of bed and get ready to head out to the Esthetica Brunch at Somerset House.

The Esthetica brunch hosted by Harold Tillman, Chairman, British Fashion Council, showcased a selection of eco conscience designers with beautiful and innovative products.

I really liked Supermodel Erin O’Connor and vintage designer/stylist Kate Halfpenny’s T-shirt collection entitled ‘She died of beauty’. They were simple yet fun!

After the Esthetica I brunch I managed to have a quick chat with the stunning fashionista and The City star Olivia Palermo who was in London. She was so lovely and nothing near as how horrid she is portrayed in The City!

Below is a quick snap of us in Covent Garden

Vivienne Westwood Red Label

It was finally that moment I had been waiting for all day! Yes the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show time! Me and my bff Mary headed down nice and early as we were fully aware of the chaos and queuing!

I spotted a range of celebrities and fashion elites arriving at the venue which included the beautiful couple Rochelle (from the Saturdays) and Marvin (from JLS), Tolula Adeyemi (Vivienne's muse), Pamela Anderson and Nicola Roberts from Girl's Aloud.

Above pic: Tolula Adeyemi (Vivienne's muse) arriving at the venue

The collection was outstanding off course and what was nice was seeing a voluptuous Daisy Lowe strutting down the Catwalk representing real women.

Below are some pics of her beautiful, bold and structured tailoring...

Dinner with designer Lida O'Reilly and Bollywood actress/singer Sofia Hayat.

To end my evening I met up with leading Mauritian designer Lida O'Reilly whose London Fashion Week show will be taking place on Tuesday and Bollywood actress and singer Sofia Hayat for dinner at Pizza Express. We went through a few things and visited the show venue to ensure everything was in place and then I was off home for some much needed sleep

London Fashion Week: Day 2 : The A La Mode LFW Catwalk part 2

Today I spent all day at the Charing Cross Hotel working at the 'A La Mode' International Catwalk show. It was not as hectic as yesterday as things like building the Catwalk etc had already been taken care of the day before which was quite nice :)

Below are a few pics of the backstage and general pre-show preps

A packed house attended eargerly awaiting to see the designs of some of the most outstanding Independent International designers out there!

The front row had some lovely bloggers and guests filling the seats including Little Miss Fashion, Kristin Knox's associate, Charlotte from Style Cartel, Arise Magazine, Award winning Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji and two trend setting looking ladies from Asos.
Below pics: Some of the guests at the show

First up to showcase was London based designer Omar Mansoor whose collection of beautiful evening gowns blew the crowd away. Elegant, beautiful and Luxurious are my three words for describing the collection. See for yourself below...

Next up was Rock Chic extroadinaire, Valery Kovalska who showcased her S/S 2011 collection entitled ‘Professional Suicides’ . The collection is an insight into her rock and roll lifestyle as a ‘TV and concert stylist’ in the Ukrainian music industry...

Belinda Liu's ultra feminine Spring/Summer 11 collection entitled "La Marquise de Sade" was based around the concept of a modern Marie Antoinette

Nigerian Born uber talented designer Ngozi Pere-Okorotie, creative head behind Zed Eye brought us her fabulous African prints a high-fashion twist with vintage English styling...

Below pic: Me wearing a Zed Eye Jumpsuit with Zed Eye's designer Zi wearing the same jumpsuit in green.

Parisain label Malam showcased their collection entitled "Poupées Perdues" which means Lost Dolls; it is mostly inspired by childhood, fairytales, and historical clothing. Models took to the catwalk wearing the brand’s fairy tale inspired creations. The designs came in a palette of pastel pinks and blues and featured tailored jackets with pixie like hoods, romantic gowns and feminine dresses. MALAM partnered with Portuguese shoe brand EJECT Shoes www.eject-shoes.com for the show.
Watch their show clip below!

Closing the show was Australian designer Kate Williams whose use of graphic prints were a trademark look for the SS2011 collection, consisting of body con dresses, city shorts and wide-leg feminine trousers.

Exhibiting a spectacularly luxurious and elegant collection, Kate’s attention to details and classically chic style caught the eye of ASOS and many other high profile guests attending the prestigious LGN Events ‘A La Mode’ showcase.
