niOka to showcase at the ‘A La Mode’ London Fashion Week 2010 show
The ‘niOka’ label graced the catwalk at the INFLUENCE festival in Slovenia this summer and was so well received that Ravnik was asked to show the ‘niOka’ collection again at the Austrian fashion festival MODEZONE in October.
Nika Ravnik born in 1981 grew up in Nova Gorica in Slovenia and went on to graduate in Fashion and Textile Design from the University of Ljubljana. Ravnik showed her first student collection at Copenhagen Fashion week S/S 08, while on a study year in Denmark. This drew such attention that in 2008, Ravnik launched her own label ‘niOka’ to the forefront while still working on freelance projects.
“Her unique and anomalous vision doesn’t leave any observer indifferent.”
“...a mixture of avant-garde simplicity, artistic craftsmanship, tender provocation and timelessness.”
