Perfume Shop Press Day

So last Thursday I headed down to the Perfume Shop Press day to view their amazing Christmas range and meet the team.

I can’t believe how much the perfume shop has actually evolved!! It has become a household brand and no longer considered as that ‘Discount Retailer’. I always saw it as the ‘Budget perfume shop’ but those days are long gone! I mean don’t get me wrong, their prices are still very competitive , however I don’t ever recall finding ‘Chanel’ or ‘Gucci’ being sold at the ‘Old Perfume Shop’ should I say. It’s interesting how you notice the evolution of brands over time.

I went through the range and tested out the scents of some of the brands they carry. It was simply perfume Heaven :) I also fell in love with Theirry Mugler once again (I mean can you blame me?) It’s just one of those scents that you always come back to, such a classic!

I also got to try out the new DKNY ‘Apple’ branded 'Delicious' perfumes. The Mango one really smells like Mango. The smells are really sweet and I think are great for the Spring/Summer season.

I also made some notes on what are some of their must buy’s this season and have listed it below, especially seen as people starting tweeting me and messaging me on what fragrance they should opt for as soon as I mentioned I was at the Perfume Shop press day on Twitter! That’s the power of 1 tweet!!!! (makes unbelievable face).

Reb’l Fleur by Rihanna EDP 50ml TPS Price £29.50
Rihanna’s debut scent is every bit as powerful and dramatic as the rebellious
R&B diva herself. A sizzling cocktail of scent, Reb’l Fleur by Rihanna embodies
the Barbadian beauty in every way. Top notes of rich, red berries, ripe peaches
and purple plums burst into a heart of tropical Hawaiian hibiscus flowers and
smooth coconut water that in turn spill over onto a dreamy base of musk and
vanilla. The captivating scent is encased in an ultimately glamorous and unique
bottle inspired by a stilleto heel, the shoe of choice for the lady herself and is
available online and in store at The Perfume Shop from 27th July.

Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance EDT 50ml RRP £29.00

Not just a one trick pony, our favourite princess of pop Britney Spears has a
scent for every occasion. Her latest creation, Cosmic Radiance, available from
25th August, joins her stunning collection including Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy,
Believe and Radiance to make sure that there is a perfume to suit every girl.
Inspired by the idea of luminous sensuality, Cosmic Radiance reflects the
energy and beauty of women everywhere. Notes of amber, sandalwood and
liquid vanilla combine to create a scent cocktail that is a must-have for bold,
confident and empowered women everywhere!

House of Chanel

From legends like Marilyn Monroe to modern day heroines like Keira Knightly,
The House of Chanel always exudes radiance and beauty. Chanel No.5 (EDP
50ml TPS price £59.99) was introduced in 1921 and is still a favourite today
with tonka bean, patchouli and vetiver notes. For the younger Chanel fan,
Coco Mademoiselle (EDP 50ml TPS price £59.99) perfectly combines oriental
fresh notes with a floral jasmine-rose accord. Some scents are timeless -
Allure Homme Sport (EDT 50ml TPS price £42.50) combines contemporary
class with the iconic brand heritage. With notes of lavender and grapefruit this
fragrance is perfect for a guy that is both active and stylish.

Valentino, Valentina For Her EDP 50ml RRP £55.00
Fresh from the Valentino collection and the latest of the autumnal fragrances
from this iconic fashion house, Valentina Valentino is available at The Perfume
Shop nationwide from 3rd October and is the perfect scent for those
fashionistas who like to be in the know and want to smell divine. The flirty,
feisty and fun fragrance is an oriental floral scent with top notes of fresh
bergamot and alba truffle. Blends of fruity orange flower and jasmine
highlight the heart notes, while the base contains cedarwood and warm notes
of vanilla. The glamorous signature scent is a fresh sparkle of seduction and an
ideal choice for those women who empower femininity

Deep Heat/Deep Freeze: My pain saver :)

So recently I've gotten back into the spirit of exercising and keeping fit, long gone are the days when I was 21 and could eat anything and do anything and still have a washboard stomach and happily run for the bus or train without it taking the whole journey to get may breath back!!

So Paddington Rec in Maida Vale has been my new found fitness playground and also social meet-up as I discover what my surrounding neighbours actually do for a living (some very interesting careers which I will have to share with you in another post). But having not exercised properly for a very long time and then trying to do intense sessions comes with that price!!! That price of sore muscles all over your body and plenty of aches and pains. Don’t get me wrong I did stretch and all that whoooo-haaaa, but I still had the intense muscle pains and serious backache!! That was when I finally decided to try Deep Heat and Deep Freeze!

Deep heat and Deep Freeze are part of a range of innovative treatments that either cool or heat damaged tissue to help soothe pain, control the symptoms and notably aid healing. To be honest I thought let me give it a try (not quite sure whether it was actually going to work or not) but to my surprise it worked very quickly. I was so impressed and amazed with the results!! I definitely recommend these amazing products and pricing wise they are sooooooo affordable!

Looking forward to no more muscle pains J

Try them out and let me know what you think of them.

Wireless Festival baby!

So on Friday, myself and my partner in Crime Bella, headed down to the Wireless festival in Hyde Park London!

After a crazy week at work and not a day off in ages I jumped at the opportunity of chilling out and having a long weekend off. I know those that know me were extremely shocked that I even took a non-work related long weekend off, lol.

So I had to really think about what to wear because I needed something versatile that would be suitable for both the festival and the after party at Supperclub later that evening. I rummaged through my wardrobe and there it was VOILA!!! My vintage black and gold lace dress with side splits was starring right at me J That was it for me and added a cute vintage belt.

Make-up wise I wanted to keep it very neutral and simple to compliment my dress otherwise there would have been too much going on. Also the day was extremely hot so I really did not want too much on my face. I put on some gold eye shadow, eyeliner and nude coloured lip gloss and as a finishing sprayed some VANI-T multi-vitamin facial mist spritz which is great for setting make-up and keeping you skin hydrated throughout the day. I painted my nails pastel green to add a bit of contrast and colour to my ensemble and was good to go!

I finally got to the festival and met up with Bella and headed to the V.I.P and Press section. I don’t do too well with large crowds but I was really excited about the festival, music and food and got completely distracted chatting away with familiar faces that I somehow managed to forget about the crowds of people.

Me and Bella spent most of the day with the team from Verge Magazine and Flavour magazine discussing all sorts in the gorgeous sun! The weather was just unbelievable! NO RAIN GUYS!!! YES NO RAIN!! It almost felt as though I was on holiday!

We went to watch Tiny Tempah’s amazing performance and danced away and sang Happy Birthday to his bass player who is also a friend of Bella’s.

I also bumped into the talented Jamal Edwards whose documentary and meet-up with Richard Branson was recently shown on TV. He has created a youth broadcasting empire, amassing over 54 million video views on You Tube and supporting new talent through his own record label, and he's on 20yrs old!!.

(Below: Jamal Edwards and Bella)

Being a big fan of TOWIE (The Only Way is Essex) I had to take a snap with the Faiers sisters Billie & Sam
:) They were so sweet and looked amazing!

Later on I caught up with Vanessa from the Saturdays as was dying to ask her a particular question which myself and a friend of mine have been debating for ages . She was so sweet and happily answered :)

More pics from the Festival:

So the next stop after the festival was Supper Club in Notting Hill. We just about caught the V.I.P coach that was waiting for us...will tell you all about that in another post!
