The Talent Magazine Launch

Today I went to the exclusive Talent Magazine launch at the luxurious Mamilanji, on Kings Road, Chelsea. Having had my phone stolen on my way there meant I had to just hope the rest of the La Geneve North team would find their way there without any problems.

Fashion Editor and designer Samata Angel and the rest of the editorial team, Zara Adams (Editor), Leoni Kibbey (Film Editor) and Emily Rose (TV Presenter Editor) were on hand at the exclusive event to celebrate the launch with Channel 4 present filming.

Amongst the guests included Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas, Supermodel Jessica Pain, Tim Noble, Lady Lush , Celebrity talent agent Petra from Somethin-else Sound productions (www.somethin-else.com), Nolcha director Kerry Bannigan (www.nolacha.com) and many more.

We were entertained by a wonderfully selected live PA performance and amongst the media crowd were Sky, Daily Express, Xpedia media and many more.

Overall it was a fantastic night with a fabulous crowd. The quality of the magazine was very impressive and I particularly loved the fashion section!

Look out for this fantastic magazine out in Borders, WH Smith’s, Sainsbury’s and selected news agents.

Flaunt Fashion Show hosted by Soiree Nights

Yesterday evening I went to the Flaunt fashion show hosted by Soiree Nights (www.soireenights.com ) which took place at the Lavish 24 venue in Kingly Street, West London.

Due to the bomb scares from the previous night I found myself running considerably late due to heavy traffic so was therefore praying the show will be fashionably late like most shows tend to be.

Despite the bomb scare, the turn out for the event was extremely good, with Fashion TV on board filming the event.

The event commenced with a Cocktail and Canapés Reception and an opportunity to mingle with those from the fashion world.

Showcasing their exclusive collections were Georgie W Couture, Alexandros Kouloumanou and Chailie Ho. Each of these fabulous collections were presented to us with great attitude, innovation and style.

Despite my hectic day the ambiance was enough to re-energize me. It was a pleasurable and entertaining fun evening overall.

‘Battle of the Quants’ fashion show

Above pic: From left: Me, fashionsta Julie, model Sharika Wells

Today was a manic day and morning. It was the day of the private fashion show I was coordinating for Nolcha (www.nolcha.com) at the Park Lane Hotel in Mayfair. I was up from 6am and went through all the plans and scrolled my to-do list to ensure I had everything covered.

By 8am I started making phone calls to everyone involved who I either did not manage to get through to yesterday or had to confirm specific details with me. I already started feeling the pressure by 8.30am as the initial make-up artists we wanted to use were unable to get to the venue until 5.30pm which was far too late. I had to find a replacement so started ringing around my make-up contacts and eventually found a replacement.

I felt very confident with today's show as I had a very strong hardworking team as some of them were from La Geneve North (www.lagenevenorth.co.uk). I finally got a call from Elena, who was one of the models I had been trying to get hold off. She was ever so lovely and confirmed she would be there so that was one less of a worry.

What to wear is always a tricky and time consuming one for me as I am
always so indecisive about what to wear to events!! I decided to go for my bright coloured Alice Temperely style dress with my Green leather strapped, wooden heeled sandals.

I got to the Park Lane hotel at 2pm where a few of the models from Envy Model management had already arrived and were patiently sat next to the cafe by the ballroom entrance. I directed everybody to the relevant room and set everything up etc. I gave a brief talk on everything and the show itself. The other make-up Artists soon arrived with the other models and we got cracking!! Our hair stylist for the day was La Geneve North's fabulous Latifah Jolie who previously worked for Toni and Guy. Our photographer was the wonderful Alex Leonhardt. The models were styled by designer, Georgette Williams, with the wonderful TJ Arlette at hand assisting all the way through.

Model Lucinda Hutchin’s mother got the privilege of getting a make-over by La Geneve North’s make-up artist Katherine Anasa, who used a fantastic range of Mary Kay cosmetics.

Amongst the attendees were Draw UK’s Charles Gordon and Desmond Adymekwe, Andy O (Director of soireenights.com) and Sebastian Banovic (founder of Digital Hell).
It was overall a fantastic night with everyone letting their hair down at the after party!

If you would like to read more about this event, don’t miss Krysty Hazell’s fantastic article on the event which will be posted on www.lagenevenorth.co.uk
