INTRODUCING THE
DESIGNERS

Emma
Griffiths

Emma Griffiths’ objective in life is to always
create her ‘own style’. Her work is original, intense and confident, and it is
plain to see

that this
Westminster fashion Design graduate
is driven by desire and is definitely not afraid to think outside the box and be
daring.

Emma’s final collection has been
inspired by images from a collection of 18th century family physician
books,

paying close attention to the colours and textures
of the pages.

She has incorporated this look by using fabrics
such as; horse hair, aged elastic and billowing black silk
taffeta.

Emma imagines that the woman
that would represent her collection is intense & powerful in her own
sexuality.

Having already designed collections for a wide
variety of fashion brands such as, Balenciaga, Lanvin and Alexander McQueen,

Emma has no restrictions in applying all she has
learned to create an innovative and breathtaking collection.

Bao Ta

Bao Ta is a British womenswear designer who has
recently graduated from the University
of Westminster

having studied for over six years.

During his degree Bao has spent his
internship living in New York
City

working for Cynthia Rowley.

Taking his inspiration from the neon lights of
New York, his passion for 80’s
glamour and sharp silhouettes, he was able to construct his final collection.

Having been so inspired by the vibrancy, pace and
glamour of New York,

his bright and daring
collection has been described as “commercial but with a great intricate
detailing”.

Emilie
Claiborne

Emilie’s Autumn/winter 09/10 womenswear collection entitled
‘Perspective’ is the ultimate design

for
women who enjoy modern art and culture.

With
influences by modern art works which use layers and details, Emilie has based
her concept on how artists create fine art pieces.

The
first layers are spontaneous, and as the artist builds the strokes, they become
more precise and considered. So is Emile’s Garments.

By using
fabrics such as, wool cotton, printed chiffon, frayed organza and her own PVA
material,

she has
created a collection of garments combining unconstrained pieces contrasted with
structured and tailored garments.

Using a
mixture of black, grey, dark navy, turquoise and burgundy, her colour palette
reflects

the
clean lines and pleats, which create contrast to the spontaneous PVA
shapes.

Emilie’s
beautifully constructed pieces have an artistic edge to them, yet wearable and
perfect for all contemporary women.

Kay Desmond

For women who love to be feminine with a modern
edge, this collection by Kay Desmond

is guaranteed to tick all the boxes to ensure
individuality.

Born and raised in
London, Kay graduated from the
University Of
Westminster
in 2008.

Her impressive past experience includes working at
Roland Mouret, Giorgio Armani and Mandi Lennard Publicity;

she has a varied
background within the fashion industry, which gives her greater insight to what
women desire.

Esska Shoes by Souraya Karami

Esska shoes meet all the expectations of designer
shoes that are feminine, comfortable and carefully designed.

Esska’s unique style defines, clean lines,
dominant shapes, organic silhouettes and a bold use of colour.

Karami’s inspiration lies in the urban fabrics
around her, anything from street crossings and intersections to buildings and
structures.

The new AW0809 collection promises a fabulous mixture of
earthy colours with materials that reflect the diversity of the urban world.

Jen Jarvis

Jennifer Jarvis graduated from De
Montfort University in 2008. Her stunning collection consists of a mixture of
chunky hand knit and

fine machine knit inspired by different folds and
stripes. Using a series of earthy colours and prints,

this collection presents a unique and stylish
outfit for every occasion.

Each outfit is accessorized with fine jacquard
socks which is also used in print and knit throughout the collection in a larger
scale.

Jen has just recently showcased her
work at Graduates Fashion Week and will be going on

to design and make
knitwear for Felder Felder’s London Fashion Week Spring Summer show 2008.

Lasma Simsone

Lasma has created a collection that could be
located at the interface between Fashion and Art.

Her womenswear collection consists
mainly of light cocktails dresses, wool coats and jackets.

With
inspiration taken from various disciplines, such as product design, nature and
photography,
She has designed

the garments to be conceptual and wearable at the
same time. This
collection has been put together with a

combination of stiff materials such as, wool,
felt, leather, cotton organdie and silk organza to convey solid shapes.

The intent is to mix the opposites; heavy and
solid fabrics with sheer and weightless.

Her creative but wearable collection is based
around the theme of dreams and fantasies, paying particular attention to the

Bubble
series from the spring
1963 Paris Collections, the fantasy era of
Paris fashion,

to create bubble shaped mini cocktail garments
for the stylish modern woman.

Samantha Cole London

Samantha’s unique collection is the
image of a contemporary look for today’s woman that meets

the needs of expressive, confident and independent
women, who enjoy a cosmopolitan lifestyle.

With inspirations from sculptures to Surrealism,
the French Revolution to the Psychedelic 60’s consistently play

a part in one way or another for the type of
collection that the label produces.

Samantha has worked in design rooms such as, the
infamous British Brand Burberry.

As a buyer and visual merchandiser at the early
stages of her career, She has handled high fashion labels such as,

Gucci, Armani, Donna Karen, Valentino, Anna Sui
and Amaya amongst others.

Her partnership with Men’s wear designer label
Hommebody, follwed their first major orders from Harrods and Selfridges.

Samantha’s designs have captured the
attention of leading publications across the globe including
UK magazines,

Aspire and Continental Bride, amongst others,
Ebony Magazine, and Continental Bride (USA).

Her achievements are above all everything that a
young designer could strive for, with Accolades

including New up and coming designer of the year,
and Acknowledgement from the Hong Kong design council.

Her ability to explore and expand her creative and
artistic skills without limitations

is
proven in this collection with perfection for all women.
